Overview & Mandate

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) is the federal ministry responsible for formulating and implementing policies, programs, and projects related to information technology, telecommunications, and the digital economy in Pakistan.

Vision: To transform Pakistan into a knowledge-based economy by leveraging ICT for socio-economic development, good governance, and global competitiveness.
Key Functions:
  • Policy Formulation: Develop national IT and telecom policies and strategies
  • Regulatory Oversight: Oversee regulatory bodies including PTA and FAB

Digital Pakistan Policy

PSEB — Pakistan Software Export Board

The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), operating under MoITT, is the primary government agency responsible for promoting Pakistan's IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS) industry. PSEB provides a range of services and incentives to registered IT companies.

PSEB Registration Process:

Ensure your company meets PSEB registration requirements:

  • SECP registered company/sole proprietorship
  • IT/ITeS business activity in MOA
  • Minimum one technical resource
  • Physical office address in Pakistan

Submit application through PSEB portal:

  • Pay registration fee (currently waived for first year)

PSEB processes the application:

  • Document verification (typically 5-10 working days)
