IGNITE — National Technology Fund operates under the Ministry of IT & Telecom (MoITT) to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital skills across Pakistan. It is the primary government vehicle for tech startup funding and incubation. Established as the successor to the National ICT R&D Fund, IGNITE has evolved into a multi-program agency managing incubation centers, innovation grants, venture capital, and the country’s largest digital skills training initiative.

Startups incubated at NIC Karachi have collectively raised over Rs 2B+ in follow-on funding since 2018. The center signed a new management agreement with the Lucky Landmark-led consortium (July 2024), ensuring continued support for the next cohort.
NICAT Pakistan hosted Asia-Pacific’s first Meta Llama Pitchathon (August 2024), showcasing AI-driven startups. Winners received Meta Llama API credits and mentorship from global AI leaders.
IGNITE represented Pakistan at LEAP 2025 (Riyadh) with 10 startups. Several secured MoUs with Saudi investors, demonstrating the international demand for Pakistani tech talent.
IGNITE-supported startups featured prominently at Indus AI Week (Feb 9–15, 2026), where Pakistan announced the Islamabad AI Declaration and a $1B AI commitment by 2030.
